Cherangani Hills, it offers some of
the most diverse and splendid mountain landscape found in the region.
The montane forest and the high peak boast as best place for nature

The avifauna of the cherangani hills include; The
lammergeyer, African crowned eagle, mountain buzzard( forest) the
spotted creeper, Abyssinian ground thrush, Purple throtted cuckoo
shrike, Abyssinian ground hornbill, fine banded wood pecker, oriole
finch Hartlaubs turaco,grey cuckoo shrike, grey headed negrofinch,
alpine chat, evergreen woodland warbler mountain yellow warbler,
African hill babbler, mountain oriole mountain greenbul, sharpes
starling, moustached green tinker bird, white browed crombec, African
wood owl, black billed weaver , brown caped weaver, red fronted
parrot among other montane species.
Kongelai Escarpment,
it is a beautiful semi arid country on the west side of the cherangani,
the bird life and landscape is so amazing. White
crested turaco, Ross’s turaco, Eastern grey plantain eater,
Yellow billed shrike,hemprich hornbill, Lesser blue eared starling,
Foxy cisticola, Yellow bellied hyliota, Chestnut crown sparrow weaver,
Greenbacked eremomella, Black billed barbet, Heuglins mask weaver,
Hartlaubs marsh widow bird, bronze tailed starling, black headed
batis, brown backed and Ugandan spotted wood pecker, brown parrot.
Saiwa swamp national park
It is the smallest park in the country covering an area of 3 kmsq,
very rich diverse habitat, forest and swamp. No driving, walking
is the main activity; the park was established to protect the endangered
Sitatunga, a semi-aquatic antelope. Other wildlife species include
debrazza monkeys. The ecosystem is also rich in birdlife and the
keys species include.

Mount Elgon national park
The second highest mountain in Kenya with the most amazing montane

THE CAVES.
The three caves; kitum, makingeny and chepnyalil are a must areas
to visit. Kitum cave is 60metres wide and 200metres deep attracting
elephants that come to lick the salt. It is also home to thousands
